Maintenance Technician - Chattanooga, TN
As a Maintenance Technician, you will install, troubleshoot, and maintain site mechanical equipment in order to provide a safe operation with maximum production availability. This is a dayshift position, 7am-4pm, but requires availability for outage schedule, which may include time on weekends and holidays.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
Formula for Success:
High School diploma plus 3 years of industrial maintenance experience. An industrial maintenance certificate in mechanical system and equipment maintenance OR completion of an industry recognized apprenticeship program in a mechanical trade is acceptable. Detailed knowledge of electrically and pneumatically driven mechanical equipment including rotating and reciprocating equipment and the ability to troubleshoot and rebuild this equipment. Knowledge of piping and tubing system components and experience inspecting and rebuilding various types of valves (ball, gate, butterfly, etc.) Understanding of mechanical sealing technologies used to contain process materials in rotating pumping and agitation systems. Use of optical alignment tools to align rotating equipment systems within industry accepted tolerances. Detailed knowledge of piping, bolting, gasketing, and the ability to assemble systems with proper torquing techniques. Capability to perform basic mathematics, including fractions, decimal, and minor algebra. Ability to read blueprints, piping and instrument diagrams, sketches, and detailed mechanical equipment diagrams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Commitment to continual development and training is required to understand critical plant equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Condition Monitoring programs with exposure to Process Safety Management (PSM) Certified welder in SMAW and GTAW 6G position for carbon and stainless steel. Familiarity with welding, cutting and machining of carbon and stainless-steel alloys. Experience in rigging. Prior SAP knowledge.

We are looking for a talented individual like yourself to be responsible for the daily operation of the BASF Chattanooga chemical plant facility. In this role, you will be responsible for: · Make-up of solutions from batch sheets and formula cards, transfer of solutions/batches, loading/unloading chemicals to and from tanks, trucks, and railcars.
· Use and understanding of basic process controls such as control valves, flows, pressures, levels, and temperatures.
· Use and understanding of processing equipment such as compressors, pumps, reactors, heat exchangers, steam boilers, valves, forklifts, hoists, flare systems, and other associated manufacturing equipment.
· Work in all weather conditions to complete various assigned job tasks for different plant processes.
· Willing and available to work rotating 12-hour shifts, with 32-day rotation between day and night shift. The Chattanooga site is a 24/7 operation, 365 days of the year, including weekends & holidays.
· Willing and available for overtime to cross train in additional production areas and support other members of the team by providing coverage.
· Assist in plant troubleshooting, prepping equipment for service, and returning equipment to service.
· Use of PPE specific to job task including Full Faced Respirator, where applicable

· Basic understanding of chemical processing equipment and general chemistry principals.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Manage and develop production staff to ensure excellent execution of their daily duties, always with an eye toward hitting stated targets.

- Undergraduate degree in business operations, management, or equivalent

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Digital Design Specialist will support the realization of digitally manufactured architectural components and has a strong knowledge of architectural and construction processes with an emphasis on building enclosure systems. The position requires outstanding 3-dimensional thinking to provide practical solutions for complex construction challenges that leverage Branch’s core manufacturing capabilities. This team member works in the Design group and collaborates closely with the Sales and Marketing team to secure new projects. The work involves creative ideation in early design phases to execute schematic design deliverables including high quality visualizations and graphic presentations. The DDS will also collaborate closely with the project delivery team to execute project deliverables. Responsibilities include technical shop drawings and sophisticated digital models that enable manufacturing and installation, including through proficient use of 3D modeling software platforms for architectural use, with a primary focus on Rhino and Grasshopper. Revit will also be used for some deliverables. This individual collaborates with our internal teams as well as clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other third parties to meet overall project objectives. As a member of the North America Supply Chain team, you will support the overall success of the Dispersions & Resins business in North America. Your role as the Supply Chain Planner is to manage an assigned product portfolio in support of customer delivery service goals, inventory targets and optimize service costs.
Formula for Success
This position is a critical planning role within the dispersions team. You will be leading the finished goods planning activities for one of our Chattanooga production facilities. This position will also be tasked with driving effective collaboration between our production, supply chain and product management teams to meet our customer demand. Expected roles/responsibilities for this role will include:
Review previous production and establish a finite production schedule based on forecast (or allocation) to meet customer demand Support the scheduling and transportation logistics for finished goods Month-end inventory reconciliation and weekly cycle count for finished goods Dysfunctional inventory management Tier 2 Inventory Tracking – heel batches, excess material, customer returns Drive effective utilization of SAP and the DP&S board versus excel sheet scheduling Improve process order management Work with SAP group to create background jobs to automatically execute repetitive tasks
The plants have always had the responsibility of the master data setup, costing, BOM creation, master routing, etc. This position would take on a portion of this workload for a more streamlined process.
