Dear CMA Members,
It is with great excitement that I take over the leadership today of the Chattanooga Manufacturers Association. I am very humbled to serve as your new President and CEO. Ray Childers has done a lot for our association and following him will be no easy task.
As I have discussed future opportunities with the CMA Board Executive Committee, my goal is to hold true to our mission of serving our manufacturing community while realizing that the way that we do business has changed tremendously over the last couple of decades. With this being said, we will look for opportunities to strengthen the position of our members in new and different ways.
Our Chairman referred to me as “the guy that you will see in your office, in your face” as he introduced me to members attending a meeting recently. You will not always find me in the office. I have already visited with many of our members as well as community leaders. I want to get to know you and your company, what is important to you, and how the CMA fits into that equation. Your input is important to me as we move forward. My assistant, Charlotte Laney, is scheduling times for me to set down with each member of our association. Even though we all must recognize that our lean staff does not permit us to do everything that each member requests, I do want to make sure that we are involved in those things that are important to our membership.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime. You will find my contact information listed below. Feel free to call or send me an email. If you want me to meet with you early on, please let me know. If you do not hear from me for awhile, please do not think I have forgotten you. With the number of members we have, it will take me many months to visit everyone.
I look forward to working and growing with each of you as we move forward in a region where manufacturing, has been, is, and will continue to be, a strong and vibrant part of the community and area economy.
