Summary
The Maintenance Manager at Audia is a dynamic leadership position that has the responsibility to implement strategic changes, leading the day-to-day maintenance operational activities, and providing technical guidance when needed.  The primary objective of this position is to improve the value of all Company assets at the Lafayette plant through increased reliability and lower operating costs while allowing the operation of the equipment to meet production requirements within budget guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Safety:

  • Ultimately responsible for the safety of the reporting personnel.
  • Individual is expected to perform job duties safely and ensure all maintenance technicians perform duties safely and in compliance with documentation outlined in the Safety, Health & Environmental system.
  • Actively participate in Monthly Safety Meetings, perform audits, leads by example, and sets expectations of the maintenance team to be floor leaders for the company values.
  • Emphasize importance of safety to the crew with every job and document.

People:

  • Manages Maintenance/Electricians on a daily basis
  • Continually assess maintenance group work performance and develop training plan to fit current and future needs.
  • Document and conduct performance reviews and career development plans with coworkers, providing constructive feedback and follow up.
  • Act as back-up for maintenance leadership roles: supervisors/CMMS Planner…

Quality:

  • Individual is expected to perform job duties in compliance with defined management system requirements.
  • Lead the plant in problem solving activities and identify improvements within the quality process.

Responsiveness:

  • Be a champion of the Audia Reliability Strategy: maximize existing capital investments, clarity and commitment to the standard way, metric driven reliability, be international with actions.
  • Coordinates installations and repair work with impacted Plant Leadership Team, and central Engineering and Reliability groups to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Organizes and plans daily projects and general work.  Drives planned work structure that optimizes operational uptime.
  • Maintains inventory and orders parts for all projects and day-to-day plant needs.
  • Maintains the building and grounds.
  • Utilize and expand maintenance software value to assist in achieving company goals as related to downtime, spare parts, predictive and preventive maintenance.
  • Identify and communicate equipment repairs and repeat failures for potential improvements.
  • Support and coordinate off hours breakdowns and projects.
  • Manage and develop vendors to support and grow the department and team.
  • Performs other duties as directed by Plant Manager.

Cost:

  • Develop cost reduction initiatives for the plant each year.
  • Manage costs with plant manager to meet business plan objectives.

Preferred Training, and Skills:

  • Knowledge of the facility, the process, maintenance, materials, and its people.
  • Willingness to be available to manage critical work that impacts operations.
  • Committed to continued learning and further education.
  • Experience in a culture that placed strong emphasis on self-sufficiency and service orientation.
  • Familiarity of working with environmental regulations in continuous co-process manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Ability to apply basic engineering principles of thermodynamics, heat transfer, mass flow, and mechanical engineering.
  • Must possess good written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • Professional attitude and ability to respond to changing priorities of the business.
  • Ability to create team direction, work independently, to organize, takes initiative and exercise sound judgment.
  • Must be able to travel to Customer sites, Vendors, plants which will include international travel.

Education/Experience:

  • Leadership, maintenance management, technical ability, flexibility and team work is required
  • 5+ years of maintenance or electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  Bachelor of Science or technical degree preferred.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, software and logic.  Skilled in Microsoft Office.
